Memorex Release MMP8590 PMP and Clip & Play MP3 Player [iPod Shuffle & Nano Comparisons Abound - Yawn]

You may have missed it, but Memorex, who are rather more known for their
storage media solutions, have released two new digital audio players in
the form of the MMP8590 Portable Media Player and Clip & Play MP3 Player
both of which, according to Memorex, offer 'the ultimate in chic
portability'.

Covering 'both ends of the spectrum' Memorex's new Clip & Play MP3
Player is billed as being 'great for active users' (as opposed to
inactive, possibly dead ones, we assume) and, as you'd expect,
comparisons with Apple's Shuffle - merely on the basis of its size (the
Clip & Play has a screen, does the Shuffle?) - have been touted on
numerous sites; which is about as overtly ridiculous, and as
unimaginative, as every human being compared to Stephen Hawking merely
on the basis of the fact that he's human too.

Coming with 2GB of internal storage capacity, the Memorex Clip & Play
MP3 Player comes in black, white and pink flavours (so does the Shuffle
- how uninventive (yawn)), and sports integrated FM radio tuner (where
as'ฆ), two line dot matrix OLED display (where as'ฆ) and, apart from
offering MP3, WMA and WMA-DRM-10 file format compatibility offers a
purported endurance of up to ten hours based a full charge.

Supplied with and un-named audio management software, as well as earbuds
style headphones and USB cable, the Memorex Clip & Play MP3 Player
retails for around $50.

The MMP8590, however, which will set you back around $60, is rather more
of a PMP, sports a larger 1.5' colour OLED screen, 4GB internal storage
capacity, MP3, WMA, WMA-DRM 10, WAV and JPEG file format support,
digital voice recorder, and stop watch functionality and offers up to 12
hour playback endurance - and looks nothing faintly like a Nano (even
through squinted eyes).

If you're looking for a non-Apple digital player - and it may shock some
sites that such people do indeed exist - both may be worth checking out.
