LaCie Rugged Portable Hard Disk Now Sporting 500GB Capacity [Half TB Tough Guy HDD]

LaCie's Rugged Portable Hard Disk range which, incidentally, was
designed by Neil Poulton - who also happens to be responsible for this
monolithic beauty also from LaCie - has now been expanded to include a
500GB Rugged Portable Hard Disk which is due to become available in two
versions offering differing connectivity options.

Designed to take more than its fair share of knocks, LaCie's Rugged
Portable Hard Disk comes scratch protected aluminum shell framed with
shock resistant rubber bumper in a particularly fetching orange and will
be offered either with just USB 2.0 or FireWire 800, FireWire 400 and
USB 2.0 connectivity options dependent on model, which will retail for
around pound sterling340 and $400 respectively.

Capable of withstanding drop heights of up to 35'/90cm - though LaCie
helpfully point out that its best not to drop the drive during operation
- both drives are already listed on LaCie's online store though, at the
time of writing, are presently yet to be made available.
