Fujitsu F705i Secures Mantle of Worlds thinnest Waterproof Cell Phone

Anyone who has ever accidentally exposed a cell phone to water will
know, to their cost, that cell phones and water just don't play well
together, but for those of you who have a habit of dropping cell phones
in the bath or who like nothing better than partaking of extended phone
calls in the pouring rain, Fujitsu's new ultra slim F705i waterproof
cell phone could be the answer (as long as you happen to live in Japan).

Boasting a thickness of a mere 13.7mm, the Fujitsu F705i waterproof cell
phone can withstand being submerged up to depths of up to 3.3 feet for
periods of up to thirty minutes - which gives you ample time to recover
it should a slip of the hand occur, however, as far as features go,
whilst the F705i is hardly in danger of occasioning involuntary
palpitations in all but the most easily pleased.

Highlights include a 2.7'� QVGA 240 x 432 resolution LCD screen
(complimented by a rather neat, albeit somewhat limited '�floating'
external LCD screen), a Micro-SD slot, audio player functionality and
even a 1.3 mega pixel camera offering X16 digital zoom - which, in
fairness, considering its thinness and waterproofing, is hardly an
especially poor show.

At the time of writing the Fujitsu F705i should have just (today) have
become available in Japan though whether it will see a wider
international release is, at this stage, unclear (we suspect it's
doubtful, however).
