asking who exactly we are - are we nice, not nice, attractive,
unfeasibly ugly, do we actually like Marmite or not - but, thankfully,
most of us move on - unfortunately, in being an inanimate item, this
Citizen Independent ITX21-5014 Analogue/LCD Watch is doomed to spend its
life perpetually caught in complete personality crisis limbo.
Don't get us wrong. We don't dislike this watch, not at all, we just
cannot help but wonder whether it all pulls together quite as well as it
really shouldn't though we would be the first (perhaps second) to
congratulate Citizen for taking a walk on the wild side as, in the main,
their watches tend to be rather traditional affairs.
Unfortunately, for us at least, were we to ask ourselves whether this
watch looks 'comfortable with itself' the answer would be a resounding
'no', not least because it appears to be attempting to fuse a modern
edge with somewhat retro inspired elements that just don't seem to gel
especially well. But we accept that you may see it differently, of
course, and, all said and done what cannot be denied is that this
Citizen Independent ITX21-5014 is both striking and distinctive (and
that's a good thing).
>From a wholly un-subjective perspective, the Citizen Independent ITX21-5014's LCD display can be turned on and off according to preference/mood/relapse and, apart from sporting an EL backlight the watch also comes with a calendar mode, spot watch functionality and offers an undisclosed level of water resistance (we assume it to be merely splash proof on account of the buttons).
Due to come in either black or plain stainless steel, the Citizen
Independent ITX21-5014 Analogue & LCD Watch will retail for around $223
/ pound sterling110 /143.
