VIA Introduces SurfBoard NetNote Netbook

When I bought a netbook I did it for mobility, but after a few days I
was already thinking that an HDMI port and a good graphics card to
output movies at 1080p resolutions directly on my HDTV, would be sweet.
Well, it looks like there are many like me and VIA is catering to them
with their latest SurfBoard NetNote — a mashup between a netbook
and a laptop, that boasts HD video capabilities.

Hardware wise, the new VIA NetNote runs on the company's SurfBoard
platform that supports an optional HDMI port and integrated 3G HSPDA
connectivity modules. Meant as a high-performance mobile device, it
comes with a VX855 media processor that not only delivers 1080p HD
streams, but also decodes H.264, MPEG-2/4, VC-1 and WMV9 formats.
