Panasonic Announces VIERA G2 Plasma TVs Panasonic VIERA 2 Plasma TVs Will Feature A 5,000,000:1 Contrast Ratio

For those who could use a little bit more contrast in their lives,
Panasonic has released a new series of plasma TVs.ย The Panasonic VIERA
G2 plasma TVs feature a remarkable 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, an
increase 125 times greater than last year's Panasonic Z1 TV.
The Panasonic VIERA G2 TV continue
s Panasonic's focus on plasma technology, a format that still has values
that most LCDs can't compete with.ย The contrast ratio of plasma
technology has been a clear win for Panasonic, and the new VIERA G2 line
pushes the envelope farther than anything they've accomplished yet.ย
The Panasonic VIERA G2 plasma TVs feature a stunning 5,000,000:1
contrast ratio, a tremendous upgrade over the Panasonic Z1's ratio of
only 40,000:1.
Beyond the contrast ratio improvements, the new VIERA G2 line also
offers improved power usage.ย These plasma TVs boast 30% less power
consumption than the Panasonic VIERA G1's which were released last
year.ย Since power consumption should be factored into the final
out-the-door price of any TV, it'll be helpful to know that the monthly
cost of operation are slimmed down as well.
The Panasonic VIERA G2 line will be available in 50-inch, 46-inch and
42-inch models, priced at $3,500, $2,700 and $2,400 respectively.ย
They're aimed at the Japanese market to start, and its not certain if
these will be coming to the U.S. in the near future.
