Canon VIXIA HD Camcorders Uncovered Canon Expanding HD Camcorders, SDXC Capable, 1080p, Touchscreens

Canon is adding a few new camcorders to their VIXIA line of high-def
camcorders. Nine new cameras will be released by the camera giant, from
a high-end professional line to a low-end consumer model, these new HD
1080p camcorders will try to satisfy as many as possible.
The VIXIA S-Series will go after the high-end professional market.
They'll come with up to 64GB of internal flash memory,
and they'll also offer a SD card slot for further expansion. The
S-Series will feature a Canon 10X HD Video Lens and a 8-59-megapixel
photo sensor. All of the new S-Series models will feature a new
touchscreen for easy menu navigation.
The VIXIA M-series is the mid-range camcorders, and Canon is promoting
their sleek, lightweight body. Like their big brothers, the M-Series
will offer both on-board flash storage as well as a SD slot, which are
compatible with the high-density SDXC cards. The VIXIA M-Series will also
feature a touchscreen, albeit, a smaller one.
The VIXIA R-series goes for the entry-level market, and goes without any
touchscreen at all. It'll feature many of the features of the more
expensive cameras (HD recording, internal storage, SD card), but at a
cheaper price and with a less-expensive camera sensor.
All of these camcorders will start shipping in April, with the R-Series
line starting at $500, the M-series at $670, and the S-Series starting
at $1,000.
