ASUS Eee Box EB1501 Coming To America ASUS Desktop Eee PC On Amazon For Pre-Order, Coming To North America

The so called 'Nettop' ASUS Eee Box EB1501 which made a splash when it
wasย announced andย subsequentlyย released in the United Kingdom, and
now, those of us living under the Stars and Stripes will be getting it
soon, as the mini-desktop appeared on Amazon.com,ย availableย to
pre-order for American customers.
The EB1501 is in ASUS Eee PC line, which started as UMPCs, then became
netbooks, and now have become the 'Nettop' line of thin-client looking
desktop PCs. With the low asking price and small form-factor, they also
compete with Apple's Mac Mini product, which is rarely discussed in the
internet blogosphere, but quietly updated every 6 months (or so).
The specs of the EB1502 are decent: Intel Atom dual-core processor
(1.6GHz), 2GB of RAM, 250GB of Hard Drive space, and WiFi, HDMI ports,
and a slew of other common (USB, Ethernet) ports. The EB1501 will set
you back $479, with no shipping date in sight. Keep in mind that Amazon
has a history of (occasionally) taking pre-orders for objects that are
far (9 months) away.
