Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Rachael Gets Official Sony Ericssonโ€ s First Android Phone Available in Q1 2010

That s right folks, Sony Ericsson s first Android phone, the Rachael has
been officially unveiled exactly as expected. The Xperia X10, and not
the X3, is now official. It s also official the fact that the Rachael
will be a flagship phone in a family of phones which will be
available in the first half of next year. The Xperia X10 should find its
way to you in Q1 2010 which means you re in for a long wait. That s good
news for Motorola as the cell phone maker will undoubtedly sell lots of
Android phones by then.
The Xperia X10 comes with a custom UX platform build on top of the Open
OS which means we should definitely have some fun using it. The UX is
Sony Ericsson s version of Sense UI or MOTOBLUR and it combines
entertainment features with signature applications, unrivalled
integration of social media services and a rich graphical user
interface. How can you say no to all of that?
And here s what we can expect from the phone in terms of features:
GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900
UMTS HSPA 900/1700/2100
UMTS HSPA 800/850/1900/2100
4.0-inch scratch-resistant WVGA touchscreen with 480 x 854 resolution
Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz processor
8.1-megapixel camera with 16x digital zoom, auto focus, geotagging and
video recording
Bluetooth Stereo
Media player
Sony Ericsson Timescape and Mediascape features that handle
communication and media, respectively
Microsoft Exchange support
Gesture control
A-GPS with Google Maps and Wisepilot
3.5mm headphone jack
microUSB connectivity
Wi-Fi support
Phone memory: up to 1 GB
8GB microSD card
Android Donut 1.6
Size: 119 x 63 x 13mm
Weight: 135g
1500mAh battery
Sony Ericsson Timescape is a solution that will help you manage all your
communication with a single person in one place. That includes support
for Facebook, Twitter, photos, emails, SMS messages and calls.
Mediascape will take care of all your media content from your friends
and it can connect to YouTube and PlayNow when needed. The apps will be
able to discover connections between contacts content and media and I m
really curious to see these brand new features at work.
Now folks, you will be definitely impressed by the large touchscreen
display, the fast processor and the new features. You won t like the
fact that it s coming with only Android Donut 1.6 on board despite it s
going to be here next year. There are no pricing details available at
this point but then again, there s also no carrier anxious to launch it yet.
