The Loop Pointer In-Air Mousing for PCs and Macs Connected to Large Screens

For those of you that have had to deal with the less-than-stellar
technologies for controlling a mouse during on-screen projections you
know how hit and miss they can be. Often they cause your pointer to move
agonizingly slow or create irritating jumpy movements that can have you
ready to smash the thing into bits. You think, with it being 2009 and
all, that we would have a better solution available. The Loop is set to
change how you feel about in-air pointing.

The Loop pointer is the in-air mouse that moves your cursor using
natural hand motion. According to their marketing schlubs, you simply
point and click on the TV that's connected to your PC or Mac and The
Loop acts just like a mouse enabling you to browse the Internet or view
media content from afar. The product is designed for comfort and has
just four buttons and a scroll wheel and it incorporates Freespace
motion-sensing technology from Hillcrest Labs. So what does all that
mean? It's supposed to compensate for hand tremor and varying
orientation while remaining focused on the task at hand; pointing.
The Loop requires no extra software or drivers and connects directly via
USB. It lets you access video sites like Hulu and YouTube, watch movies
from services like Amazon Video on Demand and Netflix, and control
applications like Windows Media Center and iTunes. It could also prove
quite valuable for presenters and educators who use PCs and Macs
connected to projectors. The Loop pointer works with computers running
Windows, Mac OS or Linux and you can pick one up at www.amazon.com for $99.
