Garmin Nuvi 1690 Lands With AT&T Connectivity

Exactly one month after having their new Garmin Nuvi 1690 manual for
inspection at the FCC, we manage to get more info. The sleek Nuvi 1690
PND not only looks cool, it's also slated to charm with its amazing spec
sheet that includes AT T connectivity and access to Google Local search
information to find out more about gas prices, traffic, weather or
flight statuses.

The new Garmin Nuvi 1690 is powered by a built-in cellular modem, has
lane assist, junction view, live traffic updates and temperature details
functions. To prove that it's actually a high-end GPS unit, the PND
comes with Bluetooth connectivity and also features Garmin's Ciao
service that connects multiple networks into a single portal for users
to connect easily.

The bad part is that the new Garmin Nuvi 1690 won't rush to become
available as it's been slated for a Q4 2009 release date, just in time
for the holidays. It comes with a two years Garmin nuLink service (that
will cost you $5 per month after the two years) and has a $499.99 price
tag attached.
