If you re waiting for the release of the Acer D250 dual boot netbook,
which will come pre-loaded with both Windows XP and Android operating
systems word on the street is that the D250 is set to drop sometime in
November, though no specific dates have been mentioned.
Sporting the Android OS and coming with Windows XP also loaded, as Acer
are somewhat concerned as to how well Android on a netbook will be
received by consumers, the D250 will allow you to boot to either OS via
a boot dialogue menu (no, you don t get separate buttons allowing you to
power up the OS of your choice, though arguably this would have been a
rather better implementation) whilst, in terms of general
specifications, the device is seemingly incomparable with the standard
Win only D250 " so you re looking at a 10 display, Atom CPU and other
standard netbook offerings (doubtless you know it as well as we do by now).
There s no official word concerning the dual OS Acer D250 as at the time
of writing but initial hands on reports suggest that Acer have been
pretty savvy in offering Windows XP alongside the Android OS, as its
implementation of Android is, at best, gaining moot feedback.
