Sanyo Xacti HD Camcorders Coming to US Sanyo Xacti Cameras Shoot HD Video, 14.4MP Stills

After a flurry of release news last month on Sanyo's Xacti HD
camcorders, news hit today that Sanyo will be bringing new Xacti models
to the U.S. this month.ย The new Sanyo Xacti digital cameras have been
renamed for the U.S. market, now called the GH2, CG102 and CG20 camcorders.
All three of Sanyo's new Xacti camcorders will shoot widesc
reen 1080i AVCHD (H.264) video, doing so in a small case size thanks to
a smaller image processor.ย The Sanyo Xacti GH2 comes in a more
traditional, camcorder style body but offers the same functionality of
the compact handheld Sanyo Xacti CG102.ย Beyond the widescreen 1080i HD
video capabilities, both of these models shoot 14.4MP stills and feature
a double-range zoom that can extend to 5X zoom and jump to 12X zoom as
needed.ย By contrast, the Sanyo Xacti CG20 model comes in the same
compact handheld design of the Sanyo Xacti CG102, but features a
lesser-quality 10.7MP stills photography.
All three of the new Sanyo Xacti camcorders support SDXC memory cards
between 64GB and 2TB of storage.ย They will begin shipping this month,
with the GH2 and CG102 selling for $229, while the CG20 will be
available for $199.
