Panasonic Debuts Five New Lumix Compact Digital Cameras Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX66, DMC-TS2, DMC-ZS5, DMC-ZS7 & DMC-ZR3 Cameras Get Announced

Pentax is not the only camera maker to reveal new products for 2010.
Panasonic has five new Lumix point-
and-shoot digital cameras for you which means that choosing your next
compact camera is going to be all the more difficult.
The Lumix DMC-FX66 comes with a 14.1-megapixel shooter, 5x zoom
ultra-wide angle lens, 720p video capture and a 2.7-inch LCD screen.
The Lumix DMC-TS2 rugged camera is the successor of the TS1. This new
model will offer you a 14.1-megapixel sensor, a 4.6x zoom lens and AVCHD
Lite 720p video recording. The camera is waterproof to 10m, shockproof
to 2m, ferezeproof to 14 degrees Fahrenheit and dustproof. If you re
into extreme experiences then this point-and-shoot is going to help you
capture all of them and Andrew has more details about the DMC-TS2 here.
The Lumix DMC-ZS5 will get you a 12.1-megapixel sensor, 12x zoom lens,
lens-shift stabilization and a 2.7-inch LCD.
The Lumix DMC-ZS7 is the older sister of the previous model as it comes
with similar features: 12.1-megapixel shooter, 12x zoom lens, lens-shift
stabilization and lots of scene and focus modes. But the DMC-ZS7 adds to
that a 3-inch LCD, GPS, AVCHD Lite video recording and mini-HDMI
connectivity.
The Lumix DMC-ZR3 features a 14.1-megpixel sensor, AVCHD Lite, an 8x
ultra-wide angle lens and a 2.7-inch screen. Basically the ZR3 model is
pretty similar to that rugged TS2 model but it can t perform similarly
in extreme conditions.
You ll have to know that all these new Lumix cameras are equipped with
Leica lenses and they will come with new Venus Envine VI and Venus
Engine HD II that are said to feature better noise reduction and overall
better picture taking and video recording performance.
The compact cameras are going to be compatible with the upcoming SDXC
memory cards and they will surprise you with a new Happy Mode that
can optimize color, saturation and brightness to make both photo and
video more vivid and true to the color the users remember when they took
it. Lots of other shooting modes will also come to the rescue whenever
you ll need to take fast but clear pictures with your new Lumix
point-and-shoot.
We have no pricing details available at this point and we have no idea
when these five new cameras are going to be available in stores but
since Pentax new Optio models are coming in February we expect the new
Lumix models to arrive soon too.
