Toshiba Tecra A11 Notebook Revealed New Notebook To Feature 15-inch display, Core i3 or i5 processor, sub-$900 price

Toshiba has given an update to their enterprise workstation notebook,
the Tecra A11. The new 15-inch notebook will have a lot to offer in
regards to specs, and will come in at a decent sub-$900 price point. The
whole notebook will be an 15.7-inch model.
Buyers will get a choice between the new Core i3 chips or the older, but
more powerful Core i5 series. The press release from Toshiba
specifically says the 2010 Intel Core processors , which means they're
probably Intel's new Arrandale chips, which are being clocked and sold
as both Core i3 and i5 chips in notebooks.
In addition to the processors, Toshiba has thrown in a generous 320GB
hard drive, along with 3GB of DDR3 RAM. Unfortunately, integrated
graphics are standard, but buyers can opt into an internal NVIDIA
GeForce GT 210M card, which includes 512MB of VRAM.
Another nice bonus is that Toshiba has included a full keypad on the
notebook, as opposed to the function-doublekey setup that you'll find on
most notebooks. Accountants (and anybody who uses Excel seriously) uses
those keypads religiously – and a full keypad is a still a bit
rare to find on an enterprise notebook. The whole keyboard is black to
reduce fingerprints , and also features Toshiba's EasyGuard technology,
which protects your notebook keyboard against spilled beverages and
drops – we've seen this before, and it's a pretty good development
in notebooks.
Toshiba has also thrown in a DVD burner, and a Mini DisplayPort. The
notebooks are now shipping from Toshiba and will cost you $879 for the
base configuration, though you'll likely want to upgrade a few of those
specs.
