JVC Everio GZ-HM1 HD Camcorder Revealed JVC Updates Everio HD Camera Line With Improved Light Sensitivity And Image Stability

JVC has added a new crown to the top of its Everio line of HD
camcorders, the JVC Everio GZ-HM1 HD Camcorder.ย The JVC GZ-HM1
improves on its predecessor, the JVC GZ-HM400, with improved low light
sensitivity and image stabilization while featuring 1080p video
recording and 5.7MP still images.
The JVC Everio GZ-HM1 HD Camcorder addresses two common faults in most
HD camcorders– poor low light performance and shaky video
recording.ย Generally, camcorder sensors are noisy in low light, but
the GZ-HM1 uses a backlit CMOS sensor that reduces noise in low light
providing for a clear, crisp video recording when the lighting isn't
ideal (up to ISO 6400).ย The Everio GZ-HM1 works out the kinks in image
stabilization with two prizms, one for horizontal and one for vertical,
which comprise the unit's IS technology that can reduce the shakes that
result while the user is walking while filming.
Beyond the low light performance and image stabilization, the JVC Everio
GZ-HM1 provides the top-level HD video capabilities in the consumer
market.ย The GZ-HM1 features a 10.6MP 1920×1080 CMOS sensor
capable of full 1080p HD video recording and 5.7MP stills.ย The unit
also features a 16x zoom lens, giving its user a bit more reach for
focal points that are a bit further off in the plane.ย The JVC Everio
GZ-HM1 HD Camcorder will ship in March for $1,200.
