LG X300 Laptop Gets Official LG X300 Packing a 2GHz Intel Menlow Processor Is Thinner than Thin

LG has a new ultrathin netbook / laptop for us and what better place
than CES 2010 in Las Vegas to make it official? It s a 11.6-inch machine
which explains my problem. I don t know if it should be included in the
netbook or the laptop category. But after all, netbooks are simply
smaller laptops so I wouldn t be wrong no matter what I d call it!The LG
X300 is an ultra-portable computer which only weighs 970g and measures
17.6mm in thickness. Well, sure, it s not thinner than Adamo XPS from
Dell but it s almost there.
The laptop will offer you a 11.6-inch LCD display, a unique reflective
keyboard and a borderless touchpad which features hidden lighting and
tactile feedback. Inside that supple case you ll find a 2.0GHz Intel
Menlow platform based on Intel s Atom Z550 chip, 2GB of RAM and a SSD
ready to store your precious data. A simple 2-cell battery will last up
to seven hours which is quite remarkable. Other features include
Bluetooth connectivity, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, SRS TruSurround HD sound
and a built-in 3G modem chipset.
Besides being ultra-slim and ultra-portable the laptop is also fanless
which means it s ready to go with you everywhere without disturbing the
ones around you. Maybe James Bond could use one as it should fit very
well in his next smart car that he s going to destroy.
LG has added the Smart Pack to the X300 which is said to be the
smartest software suite for notebook and mobile PC users. The Smart
POP functionality will help you synchronize your smartphone with your PC
over Bluetooth which means you ll be able to read and reply to SMS
messages straight from the computer without even touching the handset.
The X300 will be available worldwide starting with February, but we have
no pricing details for you at this time. What do you say? Would you pick
the LG X300 over any existing netbook?
