ASUS Eee PC 1008p Revealed ASUS Adding New Netbook, Wild Design, Pine Trail Ready

If you're stick of your favorite tech blog(s) covering 12 netbooks that
are all the same – save for the logo on the cover, the companies
know it. The netbook market is saturated and now manufacturers are
starting to try to distance themselves from the competition in unique
ways. Enter the ASUS Eee PC 1008p netbook, which combines some wild
designs with some solid netbook specs.
The 1008p will be available in either hot pink or coffee brown (big at
Starbucks) and have sort of a leathery look to them on the top of the
netbook. As for the specs inside, it has a 10-inch scree
n, Intel Atom N450 processor, 1GB of DDR2 memory, a 250GB hard drive,
Windows 7 Home Premium (note, most netbooks of this class come with
Windows 7 Starter Edition) and a webcam.
No word on pricing or availability yet (the price will likely carry a
premium), but this is just the newest variant in ASUS' long line of Eee
PCs to carry the '1008′ model number. The last one was the
super-slim 1008HA. For those who care about such things, the look of the
new 1008P was designed by famed industrial designer Karim Rashid –
and I'm told, whose favorite color is pink.
