Volkswagen Golf R and the Volkswagen Scirocco R Start Selling VW Golf R & Scirocco R With 2L Turbocharged TSI Engines

It's that time of the week again when we get stormed by something new in
the automotive industry, with Volkswagen releasing two new models for
the German market. We're talking about the new VW Golf R and Scirocco R
which have found their way to dealerships with a rather powerful
four-cylinder, 2.0-liter, turbocharged TSI engine that puts them on the
hardcore side of things.
Speaking of being fast, the new Volkswagen Golf R manages to churn out
265hp and 350Nm of torque, while the new Volkswagen Scirocco R, which
seems to be just a bit heavier, outputs only 260hp. Both cars are being
electronically limited at 250 km/h (155mph that is) and are supposedly
bringing a significantly improved fuel efficiency (some 21-percent better).

Other than an amazing powerplant under the hood, both got some design
changes including LED front and rear lights, 17-inch alloy wheels,
updated bumpers, a stylish rear spoiler and a glossy grille. On top of
that, there are also sportier seats and pedals.
The cars have gone on sale today, with the VW Golf R selling in at
EUR36,400 and the Scirocco R forEUR33,475, respectively.
