HP iPAQ Glisten 3G World Phone Gets Official AT&T Intro HP iPaq Windows Mobile 6.5 Phone

Just when I asked for more Windows Mobile 6.5 phones, AT T went ahead
and announced one. The HP iPAQ Glisten is a 3G World Phone that happens
to run Windows Mobile 6.5 in the background.
If Dell is just about to get its feet wet when it comes to launching
smartphones, HP has plenty of experience in the business. Its iPAQ line
has just received a new member, the Glisten, which could be a nice
alternative to current BlackBerry handsets.
So why should one purchase the HP iPAQ Glisten? Let s take a look at
some features, shall we? The iPAQ is AT T s first phone that s going to
offer you an AMOLED screen which is something to appreciate. The phone
also comes with worldwide 3G support, Wi-Fi, GPS, a full QWERTY keyboard
a five way directional pad and a 3.1-megapixel camera.
As you can see, the phone is clearly a useful tool that can be employed
no matter where you are in the world. The Glisten will help you write
fast messages and emails but it will also let you browse the Internet,
enjoy your favorite multimedia files and get GPS directions. Since it
comes with Windows Mobile 6.5 on board, the phone gives you access to
all the extra apps you need from the Marketplace in order to improve
your mobile experience
The HP iPAQ Glisten will be available for $229.99 after a $50 mail-in
rebate and with a new two-year agreement from AT T. The phone won t be
available immediately as it s supposed to come in the following weeks.
Hopefully Santa will be able to grab one for you in time for Christmas.
Here s what Michael Woodward, vice president, Mobile Phone Portfolio, AT
T Mobility and Consumer Markets said about the smartphone:
iPAQ Glisten adds to our innovative Windows Phone portfolio. It meets
the demands of our business customers while boasting a beautiful AMOLED
touch screen and a full package of multimedia features.
What will consumer have to say? Will they choose the HP iPAQ Glisten or
the BlackBerry Bold 9700?
