Cisco, who brought out Pure Digital (the company behind the ever popular
Flip YouTube camcorder) earlier this year, have hinted that they are
set to release an updated version of the Flip pocket video camera in the
first half of next year that will see the device can integrated WiFi
wireless connectivity.
According to Cisco, the new iteration of the Flip camcorder will not
only allow users to hook up to both private and public networks " thus
allowing for video footage to be uploaded to the net with the minimum of
hassle even whilst you re out and about (as long as there s WiFi access
available, of course) " but the new version of the Flip will also
feature a what s termed as a large screen that slides to reveal the
record and menu buttons underneath which, we assume, will allow the
device to remain compact whilst still offering ease of navigation and
control as well as an integrated display. Unfortunately the display will
not offer touchscreen functionality, however, doubtless in a bid to keep
unit pricing especially competitive.
At present little else is known, or being reported, concerning the new
iteration of the Flip video camera though it is envisaged to hit the
shelves something in the first half of 2010 for an as yet unconfirmed price.
