tuners from MUGEN Euro have taken a shot at turning the super hatch into
an exclusive, hand-built race car for the road. Built in a limited
edition of only 30 units, the new Civic Type R MUGEN features a bunch of
tweaks that help the 2.0-liter i-VTEC engine to improve by 20-percent
over the stock version, putting out a good 240hp.
Speaking of tweaks, the British engineers have installed new camshafts,
pistons, intake and an upgraded exhaust. On top of that the vehicle
features a limited slip differential and four-piston racing caliper
brakes covered by a set of lightweight forged alloy wheels.
Design wise the new Civic Type R MUGEN is wearing Championship White,
comes with a new rear wing, and composite front and rear skirts. Don't
expect to go on a double date with this monster though, as on the inside
there are Recaro seats for the front, while the back seat banch has been
taken out, completely.
For those who can't resist (and boy am I one of them), MUGEN will sell
their Honda Civic Type R at pound sterling38,599. Spicy!
