Bridgestone Flexible eBook Reader Gets Official Bridgestone eReader to Offer 13.1-IN Flexible Color Touchscreen Display

So what s the deal with eBook readers these days? I mean sure I can
understand why Amazon and Barnes Noble would want to provide eBooks to
their customers. After all, that s what they happen to have at their
disposal but Bridgestone doesn t have all those books to offer in the
first place, do they?

Nevertheless the company has announced an eBook reader of their own and
from what we hear it is going to be totally awesome. The device in the
picture here is based on Bridgestone s Quick-response Liquid Powder and
it s going to offer a bunch of unique features which aren t available in
other similar products yet.

The device will offer you a 13.1-inch touchscreen e-paper display which
will be able to offer you 4,096 colors. That s right, the eBook reader
will have a color screen that s the size of a regular sheet of paper.
The devices measures 10.7 inches and it s just 5.8 mm in thickness which
means that Bridgestone s reader is even slimmer than the QUE proReader
we showed you just earlier today.

Just when we thought we ve seen everything when it comes to eBook
readers we find out that this reader is very flexible. The e-paper, the
touchscreen panel and the circuit board are all flexible which means you
can bend the thing to some extent without actually breaking it.

Unfortunately we don t know how much it will cost and when it will be
available in stores. We should have more details about the eReader at
FPD International 2009. The event is scheduled to take place from
October 28-30 at Pacifico Yokohama in Yokohama City, Japan and if you
happen to be there, don t forget to drop us a line about the Bridgestone
eReader.

At this point you have all the available details about the Nook, the
QUE, the Kindles and this unnamed Bridgestone device. Other readers are
also available from Sony and MSI is also getting ready to enter this
business. What will you buy? What do you want to see in an eBook reader
besides great content and support for most documents available to mankind?
