Apple Announces New iMac All-in-One Line New iMac to Feature 16:9 LED-backlit Displays, 1TB HDD, Intel quad-core Core i5 Processor Radeon HD 4850 Graphics

Well what do you know, Apple has refreshed the website and the new
products are ready to be inspected. Let s start everything off with the
new iMac line then!

Apple has two new all-in-ones for you, a 21.5-inch and a 27-inch
version. Both displays feature edge-to-edge glass surrounded by an
aluminum enclosure. The panels offer 16:9 aspect ratio and they both are
LED-backlit which means they will deliver an impressive brightness while
being as energy efficient as possible. The panels will offer you 1,920 x
1,080 and 2,560 x 1,440 resolution, respectively. The in-plane
technology (IPS) ensures that you will be able to enjoy those displays
no matter from what angle you re looking to the screen.

As expected the new iMacs come with a new wireless keyboard and a new
Magic Mouse. While there s nothing particular about the keyboard, the
Magic Mouse employs multitouch technology which will let you point,
click and scroll without needing any buttons or scroll wheel.
Furthermore the smart chip inside the Mouse knows at all times what your
intentions are by analyzing the position of your hand and the mouse is
ready to respond accordingly

So what s inside those panels you ask? Both models will offer Intel Core
2 Duo processors capable of going up to 3.33GHz. The 27-inch iMac will
get a quad core 2.66GHz Intel Core i5 or a 2.8GHz Intel core i7
processor later this year. Other specs include 4GB of RAM upgradeable up
to 16GB and an up to 2TB SATA hard disk drive. The new iMacs will use
either a NVIDIA GeForce 9400M or a 256MB ATI Radeon HD 4670 graphics
card. If you re willing to wait until November, the 27-inch will get a
512MB ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics card. Let s not forget about the
built-in webcam and the 8x double-layer SuperDrive. As for connectivity
solutions you can expect four USB 2.0 ports, one FireWire 800 port, an
SD card slot and a Gigabit Ethernet port.

Prices start at $1,199 for the low-end 21.5-inch iMac and go all the way
up to $1,999 for the high-end 27-inch iMac. Which one would you choose?
