Android Archos 5 Issues Fixed by Firmware 1.1.01? Reports Suggest New Firmware Addresses Instability Issues - Amazon Review Still Pending

Having initially reported that the Android powered Archos 5 internet
tablet have been made available via Amazon (see: Archos 5 Internet
Tablet Hits Amazon 32GB 160GB Android Powered Archos Shipping, 500GB
Model Available to Pre-Order ) and then following up to confirm that
Amazon had duly pulled the 160GB Archos 5 (see: Archos 5 Internet Tablet
160GB Model Pulled by Amazon A Problem with the Archos 5 s Listing, or
an Issue with the Archos 5 Itself? ) reports concerning the new Firmware
1.1.01 update appear to confirm that the instability issues users were
seeing with the Android Archos 5 may be (in the most part) addressed.
At this juncture, Amazon still have the 160GB Android Archos 5 listed as
under review and we suspect, with good reason, that they are
looking particularly hard at whether the 1.1.01 update indeed fixes the
instability issues being widely reported but, so far, its looking like
the new Firmware update sees most of the bugs fixed " but it seems some
issues remain.

Interested/affected parties can get up to speed concerning the new
update via ArchosFans who s coverage (including input from someone from
Archos) is pretty extensive and especially insightful (there s really no
point in us attempting to distil it here considering the wealth of
information on offer).

Of course we d especially like to hear from anyone who s experiencing
frustrations with the Android Archos 5 as well as from those who have
updated " has it fixed things? Do let us know.

In the meantime we'll be watching Amazon's listing of the 160GB Archos 5
closely to see if it gets re-listed.
