Epson Launches WorkForce 610 and WorkForce 1100 Printers Integrated Wi-Fi, Wired Networking, PC Fax Capabilities

The Epson WorkForce line of high-end inkjet printers has brought forward
a group of solid performers over the last several years and their latest
introductions into the line are sure to prove the same. Both the new
WorkForce 610 and WorkForce 1100 will feature Epson's stellar print
quality technology and wireless networking capabilities along with
eco-friendly recyclability and Energy Star certification.

Epson has announced the release of the WorkForce 610 and WorkForce 1100
as part of its high-end inkjet WorkForce line. Both of the new printers
will feature wireless and wired networking capabilities and will give
the ability to fax directly from your PC. In a nod to the Green
movement, both printers have been designed to be recyclable, while
meeting Energy Star standards.

The Epson WorkForce 610 can print up to 38 ppm in both black and white
and color. For laser printing, black and white speeds are 15 ppm, and
color is 9.3 ppm. It allows for a 30-page auto document feeder to
conveniently scan, fax, or copy as many papers as you need. Epson
promises that the ink will never smudge. Sounds like a tall order to me.
Maybe smudge resistant would have been a better option.

The WorkForce 1100 is designed to print documents of any size and would
appear to have been created specifically for the SOHO market. What it
sacrifices in printer speed it will make up for in its ink savings. In
terms of printing speeds, it cranks out 30 ppm in black and white, while
popping out a respectable 17 ppm in color. In addition, laser quality
printing can achieve speeds of 13 ppm for black and white, while it
reaches only 5.5 ppm in color.
Pricing for both the WorkForce 610 and WorkForce 1100 are both set at
$200. The 610 should ship in late August and the 1100 will be released
in September.
