32GB Sony Memory Stick Pro-HG Duo HX Unveiled Largest Capacity Memory Stick HX Card To Date

Sony have officially taken the wraps off their largest capacity Memory
Stick HX memory card to date with the launch of the 32GB Sony Memory
Stick Pro-HG Duo HX which 'boasts' up to 20MB/s data transfer rates
(hardly industry leading) and which offers sufficient capacity to hold
up to 225 minutes of 1080p (Full HD) video content on a single card.
Billed as being perfect for high definition camcorders the new 32GB Sony
Memory Stick Pro-HG Duo HX will be supplied complete with a USB adapter
allowing for ease of data transfer between the card and your PC with
Sony's press release stating that 'read speeds of 20MB/s and write
speeds of 15MB/s are achievable' which may well excite Sony but, let's
be honest here, when you have SDHC cards such as the Class 10 SanDisk
32GB Extreme III SDHC card offering up to 30MB/s data transfer speeds
it's hard for us to get quite as excited as Sony have managed concerning
this new 32GB Memory Stick HX.

Still if you have a Sony device that relies on such cards (personally we
feel Sony should be acting to phase out these cards rather than acting
to develop them still further) you may well greet the news of this
larger 32GB capacity version with a somewhat more warmer welcome than us
(not that you have a choice).

Interestingly Sony have decided that the date of availability and
pricing of their new 32GB Memory Stick Pro-HG Duo HX is of trifling
importance as they have not seen fit to offer absolutely no
clarification concerning either.
