Toshiba Enters External Hard Disk Vogue War with Sleek 1.8 Inch HDD Units

Perhaps it's just us, but one could be forgiven for thinking that
external hard disk drives had suddenly become the latest in de rigor
fashion accessories as somewhat of a style war appears to have broken
out lately with each manufacturer trying to appeal to our aesthetic
sensibilities as well as our increasing need for additional storage
space - and, never ones to shy away from a good scrap, Toshiba are due
to enter the fray with these new, sleek external hard drives which we
expect the likes of Jean-Paul Gaultier to make an outfit from ready for
this year's round of fashion shows.

These 1.8' external hard drives come with cool black finish and a
splash of colour raging from Carbon Grey, Hot Rod Read and Gecko Green
and will come in 60GB, 80GB and 120GB flavours and, in being designed to
be highly mobile will come complete with encryption and backup software
(we are, however, at this stage, unable to ascertain whether the
included encryption will be hardware or software based).

Due for release sometime this Spring, whilst not quite as desirable as
LeCie's Monolithic External Hard Drive or the Segate Maxtor BlackArmor
which features AES government grade encryption, these Toshiba 1.8' hard
disk drives are sure to appeal to those looking for a stylish storage
solution that offers extreme portability though, at the time of writing,
no pricing structure has been made available.
