Epson EH-DM3 Home Cinema Video Projector

Whilst projectors catering specifically for those looking to avail
themselves of a home cinema setup are hardly in short supply the newly
announced Epson EH-DM3 Home Cinema Video Projector serves to distinguish
itself thanks to serving as a reasonably portable home theatre projector
offering integrated DVD player with DivX format compatibility though,
alas, if you're looking for a HD projector you'll be looking elsewhere.
Whilst offering support for 1080i HD content the 3LCD touting Epson
EH-DM3 Home Cinema Video Projector's resolution unfortunately tops out
at a mere 940 x 540 so if you want to see that 1080i HD content in its
native resolution you'll need to reply on outputting the content via the
unit's HDMI port. Shame.

Resolution aside, however, the Epson EH-DM3 puts in a reasonably
impressive (if not spectacularly impressive) set of specs in delivering
2000 ANSI lumens brightness and 3000:1 contrast ratio (we did say it
wasn't spectacularly impressive, didn't we) whilst, in terms of
additional connectivity on and above the aforementioned HDMI there's
also composite, component and RGB with an inbuilt USB port allowing you
to access content from USB flash drives. And, yes, there's even a mic-in
connection for those looking to engage in a little karaoke –
though whether that's perceived as a bonus or not is very much down to
the individual.
