Nokia Connecting People Event Hosted During MWC Nokia to Host Special Event in Barcelona; Nokia Not Attending MWC in 2010

Once Christmas and New Year s are over we can focus on two major events
that can seriously influence the outcome of the new year from the
technology point of view. CES 2010 in January and MWC in Febru
ary are the events in question and they are very important for the
technology world.Everyone who is anyone will be present at CES and/or
MWC to show new devices to gadgets lovers. Some of the prototypes we re
about to see in January and February will only be launched later next
year and despite the ongoing worldwide economic crisis, it s going to be
interesting to watch what s going to happen at CES and MWC.
Nokia, the world s number one cell phone manufacturer will not attend
MWC. That s a terrible decision to make especially since everyone else
in the business will want to make the most of this Spain-based event.
Nokia s competitor should be thrilled to hear that the Finish
manufacturer will not attend MWC but they won t exactly have time for that.
Despite pulling out of MWC, Nokia will offer a private event. Nokia
Connecting People will take place in Barcelona, Spain, on the first two
days of MWC. On February 15 and 16 those of you attending MWC will be
able to check out Nokia s event too. The official excuse for Nokia
getting out of MWC is that the Nokia World conference needed more attention.
Should we assume that the Nokia Connecting People event has been created
only to build buzz around Nokia? Will Nokia announce any hot phones
during MWC at its private event or will the company wait for Nokia World
to launch new handsets.
Should we also assume that Nokia s presence at CES will only be
symbolic? What do you say, Nokia fans, what are you expecting from your
favorite carrier next year?
