Audi A8 Multi Media Interface Adds Handwriting 2011 Audi A8 MMI Features Include Handwriting Recognition & in-Car Wi-Fi Connectivity

The next-gen Audi A8 is more than just another expensive limo out there,
it's a sophisticated piece of high tech that has managed to cause some
serious drooling at the TFTS offices. And it happened, not only because
of its luxurious appeal and the amazing performance numbers, but also
because of the new Multi Media Interface (MMI) features that have just
found their way in front of our eyes.
Official word from the German manufacturer is that the 2011 Audi A8 will
be given the same handwriting recognition technology as promised for the
next-gen R8 — the new technology allows you to use the touchscreen
display to write your destination yourself.
Coming with Cyrillic, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean character support,
the new multi media interface not only tries to change the way we use
navigation systems, it will surely make for the main focal point of the
rich geek if we're to consider that it's also expected to connect your
car to the Internet via UMTS and deliver Wi-Fi waves to anyone who'd
like to check their email or just browse online while the chauffeur
drives back home.
The only thing remaining is to actually afford all that tech under the
hood and inside the new Audi A8. It ain't coming cheap!
