TonyHawk: RIDE Skateboard Controller Now Official Activision Announces New TonyHawk Game and Dedicated Controller

Activision has announced today a brand new Tony Hawk game, the Tony
Hawk: RIDE. What s particularly interesting about this new title is the
introduction of a new controller. The skateboard controller is a unique
concept so if you love skateboarding you ll certainly love the RIDE.
How does the controller work? Well you have to step on the board and
perform all the movements and gestures you want. The tricks will be then
ported to the game and you ll definitely have a better playing
experience as you ll be controlling everything with the board. The only
problem is that you ll get tired using such a board. After all I d
rather sit down and use a regular controller while trying to pull off
all those complicated Tony Hawk moves.
The skateboard controller works wirelessly so there's no need for extra
cables. The controller can interpret various moves like leaning, pop ups
or grasps. The length and angle of your lean controls the outcome of the
trick. Just like in real life, the actual movement on the board is
responsible for the tricks you want to perform. The board has four
sensors that will pick up all your moves and all of the resulting spins
and flips will be properly displayed on the screen. Just make sure you
don t fall of the board while performing those wild moves.
The new Tony Hawk game and board are bundled together for $119.99 but
that s the price to pay if you want to play the game with an actual
board. Tony Hawk: RIDE has been developed by Robomodo for the Xbox 360
and the PlayStation 3 while the Wii version has been developed by Buzz
Monkey. The Wii version will offer you low-end graphics so maybe buying
the RIDE for the Wii isn t such a good idea.
If skateboarding is not your favorite console game than the skateboard
controller is basically useless so paying $119.99 for the bundle is
definitely not recommended.
