The Olympus E-P2 Micro Four Thirds camera has been rumored to become
official by the end of the year and it looks like later today or very
early tomorrow morning it will finally be announced. Like in most cases
with hot new gadgets, the official pictures and specs have been leaked
before launch.
So let s see what we have here, shall we? The new Micro Four Thirds from
Olympus is going to bring you a set of new features which the E-P1
lacked. AF tracking and an electronic viewfinder are two of the new
features the E-P2 will have to offer. The camera isn t all that
different from its predecessor as you ll find some more than familiar
specs in the list below. But the E-P2 is a brand new toy which a lot of
photographers will want to buy. Priced at around $1,400 this Micro Four
Thirds isn t going to be available for just any budget. The price,
although not official yet, is said to include both the EVF and the 14-42
zoom lens.
And here s what the Olympus E-P2 will have to offer:
12-megapixel sensor
Image stabilization system with four EV steps
720p HD video recording at 30 fps
Stereo sound, AF live view
8 Art filters for special effects
AF tracking
1.44 million dot electronic viewfinder
External microphone adapter
Diorama mode
Cross Process mode
i-Enhance function
The camera is supposed to come officially tomorrow, so we will bring you
all the updates, if there are any, to the specs sheet leaked above. Don
t get too excited about the E-P2 yet! We have features, pictures and
prices but that doesn t necessarily mean you ll find it in stores before
Christmas. In fact the Micro Four Thirds will be available from January
2010 only so you ll have to use something else to shoot your Christamas
and New Year s pictures.
