Facebook for Playstation Available This Week PS3 Firmware 3.10 to Offer PS3 Facebook Integration, Update Due Thursday

We knew it was coming but it looks like the much reported Playstation
Facebook integration is set to become available as soon as this week as
the new PS3 firmware update (specifically the 3.10 firmware update) is
made available.
Scheduled to become available from this Thursday, the new PS3 3.10
firmware update has now been officially confirmed by Sony as including
Facebook integration with the official PS3 blog stating:
The latest update incorporates Facebook into the PS3 experience. By
linking your PlayStation Network account to your Facebook account, you
will have the option for the PS3 to automatically update your Facebook
News Feed with Trophy and PlayStation Store activity. This update also
enables developers to set specific criteria in their titles to publish
additional game information to your News Feed. You can then check out
your updates, and those of your friends, on Facebook, Twitter, and other
social media favorites through the PS3 s built-in web browser.
This is just the beginning of our integration with Facebook and we are
looking forward to adding new features enhancing the experience in
future updates.
Along with offering PS3 Facebook integration the new 3.10 firmware
update is billed as also offering a revamped photo category on the XMB
making it easier for you to see more of your photos as well as a
revised PSN Friends List.
