The AT T – Verizon war keeps on going no matter what. After
today's truth about the 3G ads, we caught wind that there's a race for
netbooks, too. If last month we found out that Big Red has announced
availability for the new HP Mini 110 netbook, today AT T has done the
same announcing that they'll add to their range of 3G mobile broadband
equipped netbooks with the new Mini 110.
Equipped with a 10.1-inch LED display, an Intel Atom N270 processor and
1GB of RAM, the new HP Mini 110 is going to be available in AT T stores
starting November 22 with a 160GB hard drive, a webcam and a built-in
microphone. It's also shipping with Windows 7 (unlike Verizon who had XP
on theirs) and HP's QuickSync software that allows users to easily sync
files when connected to another PC on a Wireless (802.11b/g/) network.
On top of that, the HP Mini 110 will feature AT T's Communication
Manager (ACM) 7.0 software and Communication Manager program that will
connect you automagically to AT T's Wi-Fi hotspots, in an effort to
reduce usage on your data plan.
Price wise, AT T wants you to shell out $199 after a two-year contract
and mail-in rebate and wants your signature either on a 200MB, $35 per
month or a 5GB, $60 per month plan.
