About a week ago the Apple store went down to prepare for an interesting
new announcement that included updated MacBooks, iMacs, Mac Minis, time
capsules and a new mice. Speaking of the little rodent, Cupertino is
putting them into the box with their new iMacs and have announced that
it's not going be available for standalone purchases until the end of
October. Well here we are, it's the end of October and word is that
orders for the new Apple Magic Mouse started shipping.
Successor for the Mighty mouse which used a scrolling wheel that didn't
do too well with your greasy fingers, the Apple Magic Mouse is here to
right the wrongs with its special features. More specifically we're
talking about its multi-touch capabilities that Apple have tackled for
Snow Leopard users just a few days ago with a Wireless Mouse Software
Update 1.0 that allows access to the device's full range of functions
— you'll need Mac OS X 10.6.1 though.
The same Multi-Touch technology first introduced on the revolutionary
iPhone comes to the mouse. It s called Magic Mouse, and it s the world s
first Multi-Touch mouse. Click anywhere, scroll in any direction, and
swipe through images on its smooth, seamless top shell. It works
wirelessly using Bluetooth, so you don t have to worry about cables or
adapters cluttering your workspace. And built-in software lets you
configure Magic Mouse any way you want.
Meant as the world's first multi-touch mouse, Apple's Magic is selling
for $69 and should be delivered in 5 to 7 business days.
