Verizon BlackBerry Storm2 Now Official Verizon's Storm2 9550 Smartphone Ready For Purchases

Since there's a lot to expect from Verizon Wireless today, the guys woke
up early and started making announcements. But unlike what you'd expect
it's not the Droid lineup to go first but the new BlackBerry Storm2
that has become officially available for purchase online for $179,99
after a $100 discount and with a new two-year contract.
As we previously reported last week, specs for the new Curve2 are pretty
interesting:
3.25-inch 480 x 360 capacitive touchscreen
RIM s latest SurePress technology
runs on the up and coming OS 5.0
3.2-megapixel autofocus camera with image stabilization and flash
EVDO Rev.A and UMTS/HSPA 2100,
built-in GPS,
Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and WiFi connectivity (b/g)
2GB of built-in memory
microSD slot for up to 16GB more
Bluetooth Stereo Support for Listening to Music
Global SIM Card pre "installed
BlackBerry Media Player
1,400mAh battery with up to 5.5hrs of talking time and 11.2 days of standby
And although we'd expect RIM or Verizon to throw in a little something
for the original Storm user that's looking to upgrade to a BlackBerry
Storm2 9550, don't get your hopes high. There's nothing on the horizon.
