Samsung Behold II to be Launched Officially on November 12 T-Mobile and Samsung to Hold Special Event for the Behold II Android Phone

Samsung and T-Mobile have announced that next week they are going to
have a special event in which they will announce the Samsung Behold II
Android phone. Yes, that s right, you heard me correctly! The two
companies have announced a future announcement which is the most they
could have done these days. People following the Droid and the Droid
Eris were surely not disturbed by this innocent announcement as they
slowly proceeded towards the closest Verizon Wireless store.
I don t mean to imply that the Behold II is a device not worthy of your
attention. It s probably one of the best phones Samsung has manufactured
in a while and it s definitely an important Android phone to consider.
But the Behold II lacks the entire buzz and the magic created around the
Droid. Motorola together with Verizon managed to make almost anyone
interested in smartphones in general, badly desire a Droid.
So will T-Mobile be as successful at selling the Behold II as Verizon at
selling the Droid? What do you say?
The Behold II will become official next Thursday on November 12 and
customers will probably be able to purchase it on November 18.
So what will the Behold have to offer? The phone will come with features
like a 3.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, a 5-megapixel camera,
Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi connectivity, up to 16GB storage space via the
microSD slot and Android OS. The phone will probably not bring Android
2.0 right away but at least it will sport Samsung s own TouchWiz
interface. The TouchWiz UI is comparable to HTC s Sense UI or the
Motorola s MOTOBLUR so you probably know what to expect from it already.
The TouchWiz interface will let you customize up to three different home
screens and fill them with widgets and shortcuts. The cube menu will let
you navigate through six multimedia features and you ll be able to
easily check out your stored videos and pictures, your music, the web
and most importantly, YouTube videos and Amazon music while on the go.
The phone should sell for $249.99 with a 2-year contract from T-Mobile
but we ll wait for next Thursday s special event to confirm everything
we mentioned so far.
Would you get the Behold II instead of the Droid?
