Nintendo to Make Wii 2 Smaller Cheaper Wii 2 to Offer Same Features as the Wii; Arrival Date Not Revealed Yet

Nintendo s Wii has quickly become one of the most famous and most fun
gaming consoles out there. But that doesn t mean the Wii will be the
number one console in the near future. Although stunned by the Wii s
popularity, the main competitors, Sony and Microsoft are catching up
fast and both manufacturers are going bring motion controlled gaming to
PlayStation and Xbox fans next year. So how will Nintendo handle the
upcoming gaming environment?

Well from the looks of it, Nintendo is planning to release a
second-generation Wii, the Wii 2 which is supposed to offer similar
functionalities. So what will change you ask? Well the Wii 2 is supposed
to be more compact and perhaps even more cost-efficient according to
Shigeru Miyamoto, the mind behind some of Nintendo s greatest products.
When is the Wii 2 coming? It s way too early to tell but we ll follow
all the rumors for you.

So let me get this straight, the Wii 2 is only going to get smaller and
cheaper? Won t we see any important upgrades arrive in this next
version? I bet I am not the only one to expect more out of the Wii when
it comes to graphic performance, right? After all, if the Wii 2 doesn t
bring anything else to the table why shouldn t we go for a PlayStation 3
Slim or an Xbox 360 and wait for Sony and Microsoft to release their
motion controlled gaming interface?

Let s not forget that Sony has finally managed to surpass the Wii in
sales. It took a while for Sony to redesign and update the PlayStation 3
and it took a very long while for the company to finally cut the price.
Sure selling a game console as cheap as possible is definitely a move
that will get you places but we won t buy the Wii 2 just because it s
smaller and cheaper than our current Wii. Consumers expect more no
matter what product refresh we are talking about. And while Sony and
Microsoft are finally ready to offer more features, Nintendo seems to
settle for a cheaper and smaller Wii 2. Hopefully by the time the Wii 2
hits the market I will be proven wrong and Nintendo s future console
will be able to make our heads turn once again!
