ASUS Eee PC 1201N Ultraportable Confirmed for December Upcoming 12" Eee PC 1201N with NVIDIA Ion Graphics Readied, ASUS Smartbook Delayed

Asus is all set to expand its Eee PC netbook lineup with a new
ultraportable device that has been confirmed for a release this
December. Dubbed ASUS Eee PC 1201N, the specs haven't been confirmed as
of now but we're certain it will feature nVidia's ION graphics system,
an Intel Atom 330 1.6 GHz processor, up to 3GB, 320GB HDD and Wi-Fi and
Bluetooth connectivity.
Other than that, the EeePC 1201N will come with a 6-cell battery for up
to 8 hours of runtime, should be available in black, red and blue, and
is expected to come pre-loaded with the new Windows 7.
On the other hand, for unknown reasons Asus's Smartbook — rumored
to be run on a Qualcomm SnapDragon, has reportedly been pushed back from
a Q1 2010 release date, to the second quarter.
A very promising portable device with a 5-inches to 7-inches display
(yet to be confirmed), the new ASUS Smartbook will cost just shy of
$180. The only drawback other than the delay, the SmartBook may not be
released in the US or UK as it's supposedly targeted at the emerging
markets in the Asia-Pacific.
