September 1st have just been reinforced by a recent report by Kamera
Bild which says that without giving any more details, Canon has invited
the press to an event next week. Full specs of the new Canon 7D are
expected to be released at the press conference and we can already dream
of a full-frame sensor or a crop-frame sensor like the EOS-50D.
If everything turn out to be true, the new Canon EOS 7D would be in
direct competition with Nikon's D300s which uses a non full-frame sensor
but has better auto-focus. Early rumors suggest that the camera will
have a 18 megapixel sensor and should boast a 3-inch 640×480 OLED
screen. The DSLR is also supposed to feature 3.9 fps shooting as well as
1080p HD video recording capability.
According to sources, the 7D camera alone is to be priced at $2700 and
an extra EF 28-135mm lens shouldn't be less than $200 .
Only time will tell whether this is in fact the real Canon EOS 7D or
just a big hoax. To be honest, we'd like to believe it …
