time newly unveiled Asus Eee Keyboard – basically a Eee PC housed
within a keyboard complete with touchscreen offering wired and wireless
connectivity to TVs, monitors and/or projectors – whilst also
informing you of the Eee Keyboard's billed release schedule (that's
slipped just a little since then). Now, however, it's release timeframe
has reportedly been confirmed as being set for October in both Europe
and North America.
The Eee Keyboard, apart from touting an integrated 5 touchscreen
display, is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU (this is an 'Eee' branded
device after all) with 1GB of DDR2 DRAM whilst, in terms of storage,
you'll have the option of either a 16GB or 32GB SSD whilst the device
also offers up Wi-Fi (802.11n) and Bluettoth wireless connectivity
backed up with HDMI allowing output to LCD TVs/HDTVs. There's also USB
and VGA ports.
There's no official word from Asus concerning what OS the Eee Keyboard
will employ but its not unreasonably expected to run with Windows 7.
At this juncture Asus remain wholly tight-lipped concerning unit pricing
though our initial projections of it coming in somewhere in the
$400-$600 price bracket would still appear to be pretty much in line
with expectations.
