OCZ 1TB Colossus SSD Announced Gets Price and Release Date Confirmed

About a month ago at Computex the folks at OCZ took the wraps off of
their new 1TB Colossus SSD, and today we've just learned that the price
and a release date have been officially announced for the device. A

large (weighs in at 400g), the new OCZ 1TB Colossus vouches read speeds
of up to 250MB/s and write speeds of 200MB using a SATA II interface.

Meant to the high-end and enterprise markets, the new OCZ 1TB Colossus
sports two separate SSD in a RAID 0 configuration and feature a JMicron
controller. Along with the 1TB model, OCZ also plans to introduce the
512GB Colossus which should be available at the same time with it's big
brother.

Release date is rumored for mid-August while the prices are $1,200 for
the 500 (512GB) Colossus SSD and $2,200 respectively for the 1TB
(1024GB) model.

They look perfect for your gaming PC if you can afford any of these …
