Logitech Announces Performance Mouse MX, Anywhere Mouse MX With Darkfield Technology Work on Any Surface, 2.4GHz Wireless, Sculpted Design

It wasn't that long ago when all of us were fighting those
pain-in-the-ass creations known as the trackball mice. Yeah, sure, they
worked great…when they were clean. I don't know how many times I
had to take my mouse apart to clean the contacts and dust off the ball.
Then came the optical mice. Taking advantage of the hypersensitive and
uber-accurate lasers, this generation of pointing devices seemed to
answer all of our prayers. Well, at least most of them. Laser mice work
great on flat, highly reflective surfaces. But put them on a glass desk
and they automatically go into paperweight mode. Well, the
ever-innovating folks at Logitech have just announced their latest
wireless mice, the Logitech Performance Mouse MX and Logitech Anywhere
Mouse MX, and with Darkfield Technology built-in, glass surfaces have
met their match.

So what is Logitech's Darkfield Technology? I have no idea how it works,
but the name sounds pretty cool. Basically, with Logitech Darkfield
Laser Tracking, you get better precision on a wider range of surfaces.
That means clear glass (4-mm minimum thickness) and lacquered
desks-surfaces that stump optical mice and standard laser mice-are no
obstacle. Both of the new mice feature this technology and given
Logitech's track record, both a sure to be great.

The Logitech Performance Mouse MX is basically the big brother to the
smaller, and more travel-friendly Anywhere Mouse MX. Both feature
hyper-fast scrolling so you can fly through long documents and web pages
with a single spin. Or use click-to-click scrolling for the precision
you need when navigating lists, slides, and images.

The Performance Mouse MX has a sculpted, right-handed shape that is
designed to fit your hand and put it in a comfortable, natural position
and the Anywhere Mouse MX is small making it perfect for on-the-go work.

Both new mice feature advanced 2.4 GHz wireless giving you the
reliability of a cord plus cordless convenience and freedom with
virtually no delays or dropouts. Both the Logitech Performance Mouse MX
and Logitech Anywhere Mouse MX are available for pre-order at
www.logitech.com for $99.99 and $79.99 respectively.
