LG Introduces Super-Slim SL80 and SL90 HDTVs With Invisible Speaker Design and 1080p HD Video

The US market is going to get their hands on the new super-slim,
ultra-sleek LG SL80 and flagship LG SL90 HDTVs both featuring an
Invisible Speaker design (with Mark Levinson tuning), a single
edge-to-edge panel of glass over an ultra-slim bezel and the Yahoo!
NetCast internet-connected widgets.

LG's SL80 range are 1.8-inch thick, feature CCFL backlighting, sports an
150,000:1 contrast ratio, full 1080p HD video support, TruMotion 240Hz
refresh rate and should be available in 42-, 47- and 55-inch screen
sizes. As for the top-of-the-line SL90 series, they come in 42- and
47-inch models that are just 1.15-inches deep, pack all the above and
add an unbelievable 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio and 120Hz TruMotion
processing to the whole deal.

Other common things under the hood for both the LG SL80 and SL90 are the
AV Mode II, Picture Wizard, and Clear Voice II features.

LG SL80 HDTVs will be available from August for $1,599.95, $1,899.95 and
$2,799.95 respectively, while the SL90 range should see daylight
sometime later this year .
