Verbatim Announces the Release of Multimedia Audio Bar Sleek Boom-Tube has Built-In Mic for VoIP

Do we need yet another speaker system for our computers? I mean, how
many thousands of them are lining the store shelves as I type this
thing? Anyway, because we here at TFTS need to keep our readers
informed, I'll humor you. If anything, this latest entrant into the
computer audio arena at least looks cool. And because data storage
specialists Verbatim are behind it, we can expect that it knows how to
hold a tune.

Verbatim just announced that it will enter the market with a new speaker
system, the 49093 Multimedia Audio Bar. The Multimedia Audio Bar is a
2.1 speaker system that is designed to fit on the desktop underneath
your LCD monitor where you can connect it to your PC or laptop via the
included stereo audio cable. It comes with an aux line in port and is
compatible with all line-in audio sources, like MP3 players, portable CD
players and gaming consoles.

The one-piece speaker measures 370 x 76.5 x 63mm (14.6 x 3 x 2.5 in) and
is comprised of two boosted and magnetically shielded metal speakers
with a maximum output of 16 Watts and a frequency range of 120 Hz to 20 kHz.

This product does have a feature that might help it stand out amongst
its peers. The Verbatim Multimedia Audio Bar also includes a built-in
microphone on the front of the speaker for hands free chatting over the
Internet. I guess that makes it a bit interesting. While not yet
available in North America, you can pretty much pick one up everywhere
else in the world for about $83/50GBP.
