Toshiba Escargot VC-Z100L Cyclone Vacuum Cleaner Japanese Collaboration with Electrolux Really Sucks

When it comes to cool cleaning contraptions it seems like Dyson has
cornered the market with their award-winning (and brightly colored) line
of cyclone vacuum cleaners. Not to be outdone, the Japanese have put
their own spin on these oft-maligned sanatation devices with their
latest offering, the Escargot Cyclone Vacuum Cleaner. The result of a
collaborative effort between Japanese electronics giant Toshiba and
appliance manufacturer Electrolux, the Escargot VC-Z100L is a
combination of super clean and neat freak sleek.

Weighing in at a svelt 2.1-kg (4.6-lbs) the Escargot VC-Z100L (probably
so-named because of its resemblance to the shell of our slimy friend the
snail) puts a new spin on the cyclone vacuum cleaner. This compact
vacuum cleaner sports a 50-watt high-suction power plant and can be
easily moved from room to room via the attached shoulder strap. This
means no more having to drag around a piece of dead weight during your
cleaning routine.
The Escargot comes with plenty of accessories, making it adaptable to
pretty much any vacuuming task. It's also short on sound with an
ear-friendly 65-dBA maximum noise level. With its 6-m (19.7-ft) long
power cord, modern metallic design and reliance on industrial-strength
materials, the Escargot just might make cleaning fun. OK, probably not,
but it sounds good, doesn't it? Unfortunately, the Escargot is only
available in Japan, so most of us will have to continue to dream. Price
for this Escargot cyclone vacuum cleaner is around 10,500 Yen ($113).
