TokyoFlash Intro Independent Watch Range Limited Edition ITX21-5132, ITT21-5101, ITA21-5111 & ITA21-5142

TokyoFlash have introduced a range of four new, limited edition watches
from the (also) Japanese watch maker Independent which, if you haven't
been especially enamoured with TokyoFlash's own offerings of late (and
we certainly haven't) may well appeal in that, whilst being overtly
distinctive, they offer wholly less tacky (juvenile inspired?) styling
than the company's own recent brash offerings.

The four limited edition Independent watches on offer consist of the
following timepieces:
Independent ITA21-5111 Watch

Tokyoflash say: The impressive Two Eyes Chronograph design from
Independent is a modern design with a definite sports style. Independent
watches are loved by artists and designers and this model is a
particular favorite amongst fans.

We say: Sporting cool, refined styling the Independent ITA21-5111
manages to be 'showy' without screaming 'look at me' from the rooftops.
Not a single LED in sight either which, considering recent TokyoFlash
offerings - which very much sit at the LED overkill end of the spectrum
- is not a bad thing.

Time, date and stopwatch modes
Available in IP black with stainless band
Case dimensions: 42mm x 42mm x 11mm
Weight: 166g
Water resistance: 5ATM

Independent ITT21-5101 Watch

TokyoFlash say: A simple, modern design from Independent, the ITT21-5101
Chronograph is a wrist watch design set to impress.

We say: Offering what can best be termed as neo-classic appeal, the
Independent ITT21-5101 watch offers unfussy aesthetics aimed at those
wishing to distinguish themselves from the crowd without resorting to
overstated, garish finishing that merely serves to over complicate.

Time, date and stopwatch modes
Available in IP black with stainless band or silver with silver band
Case dimensions: 35mm x 39mm x 10mm
Weight: 110g
Water resistance 3ATM
Independent ITX21-5132 Watch

Independent ITX21-5132 Watch

TokyoFlash say: A minimalist time piece, this design is made with a
beautiful sphere cut crystal glass face, uniquely shaped case and solid
stainless steel band. The design has the impressive feature of a
futuristic shutter mode. Beneath the analog dial lies a hidden LCD
display and at the touch of a button, the watch displays the time
digitally. With date and stopwatch modes, this design not only looks
great but is functional too.

We say: Boasting a simple elegance, the Independent ITX21-5132 watch is,
arguably, the more understated of the new Independent watches on offer
from TokyoFlash but it remains elegant if not overly memorable.

Time, date and stopwatch modes
Available in silver
Stainless steel case and strap
Case dimensions: 36mm x 37mm x 13mm
Weight: 149g
Water resistance: 3ATM

Independent ITA21-5142 Watch

TokyoFlash say: Industrial looks with a large face, bold case and thick
buttons, this is a masculine design with a sense of modernity. Behind
the sphere cut crystal glass face and beneath the precise analog hands,
lie three chronograph dials that really set this design apart from the rest.

We say: We're in two minds as to whether this fully gels in terms of
overall look whilst being certain that the large numbering at the top
and bottom of the watch face is rather unnecessary (we feel whilst
serving as a stylistic element it detracts from the overall appeal of
the watch). More 'in your face' than the other offerings. Doubtless
aimed at those who are rather more extrovert.

Time, date and stopwatch modes
Available in silver with stainless band
Case dimensions: 40mm x 51mm x 13mm
Weight: 158g
In terms of pricing, the ITA21-5111 and the ITA21-5142 will set you back
around $323 whilst the ITT21-5101 and ITX21-5132 watches come in at
around $269.
