Sony DR-CX520V & HDR-CX500V Full HD Camcorders Flash Memory HD Video Cameras

Sony have unveiled two new Full HD camcorders in the form of the Sony
DR-CX520V and the Sony HDR-CX500V which, apart from capturing video in
1080p D resolution, can capture 12 megapixel stills and which come with
64GB and 32GB of onboard flash based storage capacity respectively.

Employing Sony's BIONZ imaging processor and back-illuminated Exmor R
CMOS sensors delivering what Sony term as stunning low light
performance, both the 64GB Sony DR-CX520V and the 32GB Sony HDR-CX500V -
whose capacities can be bolstered using Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo HX
memory cards - additionally sport 3 widescreen touch panel LCDs, Dolby
Digital 5.1 channel surround sound support and come with integrated GPS
functionality allowing end users to geo-tag both videos and still imagery.
These models combine the best in digital imaging technology,
strengthening Sony's industry leadership and meeting demand for both
quality camcorders and HD video, said Kelly Davis, director of the
camcorder business for Sony Electronics who introduced the DR-CX520V
HDR-CX500V. Expanding our lineup to include Handycam camcorders with
large capacity embedded flash memory allows us to offer consumers
flexible recording solutions concentrated in a very portable, compact body.

Both of sony's new Full HD camcorders are set to drop in September with
the 64GB Sony DR-CX520V retailing for around $1,300 whilst the 32GB Sony
HDR-CX500V will come in at around the $1,100 price point.
