SanDisk Launches Ultra 64GB Back-Up USB Flash Drive High-Capacity Flash Drive for Easier Archiving

It used to be that if you wanted to back up large amounts of data you
had to either burn it to CD or DVD or, worse yet, use some kind of
tape-based device that was almost certain to become corrupted just as
fast as you could get your data transferred over. So what did this mean
to the average household? Basically, most people don't even bother.
According to Acronis' 2009 survey of over 6,000 households, roughly 64%
of users performed data backups only once every 2-3 months if at all.
The capacity of USB flash drives is bulking up faster than Kirstie
Alley, and the latest offering from SanDisk is sure to please.

The SanDisk Ultra line of high-capacity Back-Up USB flash drives has a
new addition, the Ultra 64GB model. This latest entrant into the back-up
market is attempting to hit consumers where it matters, ease of use and
capacity. Not only does it feature a huge 64GB capacity, a rare size in
the USB flash drive segment, it has a backup button that allows the user
to get to archiving with one finger. Powered by U3 and bundled with
Dmailer's intuitive backup software (Windows only), only time will tell
if consumers are ready to buddy-up with the process of data archiving.

The SanDisk Ultra 64GB USB Flash Drive certainly hits the mark when it
comes to portability and storage capacity. It will certainly find use
within the SOHO segment, but it might take more than a button to get the
average home user on board. Priced at $277.99 and available for sale on
www.sandisk.com, the Ultra 64GB might just be the closest we have seen
to the no-brainer back-up.
